March Featured Artist- Margaret Larabel

The Mar Vista Art Walk welcomes the oncoming Spring on March 7 with a Green Dream theme!  Artists and vendors will come together to celebrate sustainability and bring environmental awareness to the community.

Which made local fine artist and illustrator Margaret Larabel an obvious choice for this art walk’s poster art.  Using acrylic and oils, Margaret’s paintings emanate earthly love, featuring colorful landscapes and alluring figures bathing in their natural environments.  
Margaret says, “I usually just have an idea in my head that can’t seem to go away. Whether that idea comes from places I’ve seen on my travels, or a beautiful color combination I see in everyday objects, or some imagery that seems to come from honestly nowhere - I feel a need to express that visually.” 
The artist describes her art as rhythmic, figurative, illustrative, dreamlike, colorful and inspired by a craving to be immersed in the outdoors.  Her travels have deeply influenced her admiration for cultural and environmental variance, appreciating each aesthetic for their own uniqueness and contribution to our community.
“I want my philosophy on life to show through in my work and in the way I do business”, says Margaret, “and that is a message of peace, inclusivity, and sustainability. I think diversity in all forms is so important.“
